Retirement means many different things. To some, it is a time to focus on family, hobbies, travel and just do what comes to mind. For me it means time and the means to do something else!
I am blessed with having enough income to live and enjoy many things in life. I am not wealthy, but neither am I concerned about living expenses. Unless the market crashes!!
Being somewhat free I now have a new goal: inspirational/motivational speaking! It is something I have always wanted to do, but wasn’t prepared to invest the time and costs in developing a speaking platform. Plus, I wouldn’t have had the courage to stop what I was doing and go into this competitive field cold turkey with no dollars coming in to provide for me and my family. Now I can.
In the last five years I have written two books that have become platforms for speaking to various groups. Here is a partial list of groups I have spoken to: AA groups

My talks are not based on my wisdom; they are based on wisdom I have collected over my life. I am a much better collector than creator of wisdom! In order to meet my goal my number one need right now is to get all the speaking engagements I can in order to improve my speaking ability and continue testing the messaging I have with listeners. My biggest asset is my friends, of which I have many! So I am asking all of you for help in getting me some speaking gigs in the near future. I can come most anywhere, at most any time and can tailor any talk to the group that you are involved in and their interests. I am very willing to do these talks for free for any group that you have. Schools are especially of interest to me as I enjoy talking with young people about their futures. All I ask is that I am allowed to sell books at the event in order to capture some of my investment in them as well as my time in developing the talks. I do still have some time commitments for other things in which I am involved. My ultimate goal is to make a “business” out of this with paid speaking gigs at events that are capable of paying speakers. But for now, I just need experience.
For me, this is a lofty goal. It is something I have always wanted to do but could never quite see how I would do it. Now that I have the time, I am going to give it a full bore try!
